Why were the sprinklers on?

Are we out of the drought already? I was in Manning Hall late waiting for a ride, and when I came out the sprinklers were on:

It had rained a little bit earlier, so I was even more confused. Why were the sprinklers on?

Sorry for the bad pictures… I guess I was too angry and frustrated… just wanted to document what I was seeing. I’m still having a bit of trouble understanding… why? how? Ugh!

The sprinklers turned off just as I was taking a picture of the front of Manning Hall.

    This makes me irate as well. The day after the chancellor’s office or whatever sent out that long email about conserving water, I show up on campus at 0745 and they are watering the effing sidewalks. ARGH!
