An XML class with H. Cayless

18:00

I’m in a class on XML. It’s the third of three classes so far this week, except that my second class didn’t meet last night as scheduled. This instructor is a brave soul. He’s put his email and IM contacts at the top of the syllabus.

He’s won me over:

  1. He’s sick with a cold and still here teaching
  2. He’s said he’ll try to get us a larger room so we can have everybody (even those not yet enrolled) in the class
  3. He’s stated that he vastly prefers relax-ng to XML schema

I’ll update this post later, perhaps after class.

Got off the phone with Kevin. I called him because I realized towards the end of class that Dr. Cayless is the former Lulu guy who’s now working with the badly-needing-a-better-name Carolina Digital Libraries (CDL) project that has a new director and is starting to take off. I can’t find a proper site for them. Is this it?
