Goodbye, Fedora
Read it. From beginning to end.

cacophony of floss brands (costume from yesterday)

I decided to be silly when I went to the Kilgour Fest yesterday. I wore an “unfakeable linux” redhat shirt and my well-worn rPath hat. I thought maybe Michael Tiemann would get the joke. Last night I got some pictures for posterity. Note that these are available under a CC by-nc-sa 2.5 license, just like [...]

The Yorktown Affair
Why hadn’t I read about this before? Got to this from a comment in Diane Pozefsky’s class. I note with some Schadenfreude that Windows NT was the underlying OS.

Tiemann–with answers

So I didn’t get to ask Tiemann any questions during the question/answer session, but I did manage to get a moment with him afterwards, and I talked to him briefly about Evergreen and Open Source evangelism. power outage woes

Had a power outage at the apartment last night. I’m thinking about moving pebkac to a colo’d box. Probably something to leave for after the semester ends. Kevin was nice enough to offer space on his colo’d box. We’ll see when I can actually schedule the time.

Michael Tiemann at UNC on Tuesday the 20th

I’ll be asking for your input at the end, so bear with me. I’m the designated questioner from Paul’s class for Tuesday’s Kilgour Lecture given by Michael Tiemann, Red Hat’s Vice President of Open Source Affairs. Tiemann was one of the co-founders of Cygnus, so this is quite an opportunity. I’m struggling with what kind [...]
