Rage not productive
I direct this letter to the driver and passenger of the pickup truck who attempted to force us off the road on I-40 on Memorial Day. I presume by your action, as well as your hateful facial and vulgar finger expressions, that you took issue with my “Impeach Bush” bumper sticker.
Thank you for that teachable moment.
You see, my adult son, who is not only a Bush supporter but also a Special Forces veteran, was driving my car, with me as passenger. Your absurd and dangerous behavior clearly demonstrated your beliefs. He is now better able to consider the company in which he finds himself, that 29 percent who still support this administration. Previous to this week, he was comfortably insulated from the ugly Americans who find it impossible to tolerate any view dissenting from their own. What an opportunity to discuss hateful intolerance.
While I despise your actions, I hold no ill will toward you. Here’s a teachable moment for you: You win no converts to your cause with your hostility.
Anyone interested in the rational and legal argument for impeachment can find the evidence from the Center for Constitutional Rights. You can become involved locally by visiting http://www.impeachbushcheney.net/VIVIAN PHILLIPS
